Plaid and Pearls

Hello my lovelies!
Everyone having a good thursday? :)

 When I was standing in my closet this morning trying to figure out what to wear, I saw a bit of plaid sleeve sticking out from in between all my winter shirts and got some inspiration.  A pair of black heels and some white skinny jeans later and here you have it!

To be honest, I havent worn this shirt yet even though I bought it over a month ago. Does anyone else do that or am I the only wierd one?  I dont always rush to wear a new piece of clothing the second I get it. I like to let it simmer a bit, build ideas for outfits, and showcase it's lovely price tags to all the other clothes in it's new home. Yeah, I said I was wierd.

Thanks for stopping by!!

Chambray: Four ways

Chambray!!
Today's post is going to be all about how I style the infamous chambray top! We've all seen it in magazines, on television, and on other fashion blogs, but here are a few ways that I've chosen to style it with things from my closet using a few simple fashion concepts. I hope it inspires you to pull out your denim top and create some new looks!

Look 1:
Although I'm wearing high heels in these pictures, this pair of pants are on my list to sport this winter with an amazing pair of knee high boots! I love the combination of denim tops with wintery/autum colored jeans such as these rustic red/orange skinnies. Chambray is a great top that can be transitioned from season to season. LOVE!

Look 2:
Chambray shirts can also be worn in place of a sweater or cardigan if you want to add a little somthing extra to your outfit. I love to throw one on over my cute summer tank- type dresses when it starts to get a bit chilly outside. It's perfect to keep you warm but isn't so heavy that it makes you hot. *Plus it enables you to winterize all your summer dresses so you can stretch your wardrobe even further! Awesome.

Look 3:
Who doesn't love a good maxi skirt? I love being able to throw on a comfortable maxi skirt with a my chambray top for a day of running around shopping and hanging with friends. You can do so much with this clothing combination, for example: leave the top untucked and relaxed (as pictured), tuck it in, tie it in the front, or even throw on extra layers if you happen to be lucky enough to live in a climate where it gets cold enough for that!

Look 4:
Even though denim is a bit of a heavier material, it can still be worn in the summer with a soft colored pair of skinny jeans or shorts. The good thing about denim is that it goes with everything, whether it's denim jeans, or your chambray shirt!

Sadly, there is not enough time in the day to take pictures of every possible combination I could come up with to pair a chambray shirt with, but I hope these four easy looks bring you some closet inspiration!

I would love to see how all of you lovely ladies style chambray shirts!! Please leave me comments with links to your blog/facebook page/ instagram/etc so your style can be showcased!!

Fall Lookbook 2012

Fall is one of my favorite seasons of the year! I love getting to play with all my fun sweaters, jackets, scarves, and boots, boots, BOOTS! For this special post, I have raided my closet and put together a few fall looks that include pieces everyone should have in their wardrobe, a lookbook of sorts. I hope you enjoy the post and can draw inspiration from it for creating your own fall looks!

Look 1:

{Sweater: Old Navy, Tank: West Seal, Pants: Ross, Boots: DSW, Necklace: F21}

This first look is one I put together after I bought this off white sweater at Old Navy.  Big baggy sweaters are all the rage this winter season and even though this one is a bit more fitted, I still adore it!  I love the earth tones in this outfit and decided these dark brown over the knee boots would top it off just right.

Look 2:

{Sweater: F21, Pants: Burlington, Boots: Platos Closet, Necklace: F21}

This rustic colored off the shoulder sweater is one of my favorites! I alllllmost walked past it at forever21 but decided to pick it up and try it out, and boy am I glad I did. I love the color, how it hangs off the shoulder, and its thickness. It's heavy enough to keep me warm but the 3/4 sleeves dont suffocate me. I paired it with faded blue jeans and cognac colored ankle boots for the perfect fall outfit for spending the day shopping or having lunch with friends!

Look 3:

{Cardigan: F21, Tank: Wet Seal, Jeans: Hollister, Boots: Charlotte Rouse, Belt: Old, Scarf: Charlotte Rouse}

This is an outfit that anyone could put together. I chose to layer a cardigan over a simple tank and belt it in the middle to help keep my waistline visible.  Every girl has a cardigan/sweater that can be thrown over a nice tank top to layer for winter, but if not I suggest investing in a few good pieces because cardigans can go from summer to winter and can be worn with almost anything. But that's another post all on its own. ;)

Look 4:

{Cardigan: Platos Closet, Tank: Wet Seal, Pants: Hollister, Boots: Charlotte Rouse, Belt: Old, Necklace: F21}

For this look I chose to follow the same dressing pattern as our last look but chose a colored cardigan that screams "fall is here!". As I mentioned earlier I love this orange-ish, rustic color for fall wear, so why not make another outfit with it? :)
Once again, don't forget to belt or tie off your middle in order to keep your waist line visible. You dont want to lose your girlie figure under neath all those wonderful layers!

Look 5:

{Cardigan/shirt/boots: Platos Closet, Jeans: Burlington, Necklace: Groopdealz.com}

This adorable navy bauble necklace is what inspired this whole outfit. I pulled it out trying to figure out what I could pair it with, and this is what I came up with! (You will rarely catch me with out a necklace on) The top is a cream boatneck shirt with gold stripes and I paired it with a navy cardigan, jeans, and cognac colored ankle boots. The only thing I would possibly add to this is a cognac colored belt...but I dont have one yet. Yet. ;)

Look 6:

Some Boot Love :)

{Plaid top: Platos Closet, Tank:Wet Seal, Pants: Ross, Belt: American Eagle, Boots: DSW, Necklace: F21}

How can you go wrong with plaid in winter time? You can't!  This last look is one I put together around my new over the knee boots I got for my birthday. (thanks babe!!! <3) As I was thinking about what to pair them with, this plaid top jumped out at me.  Colored skinny jeans, a belt, and a gold necklace was all I needed to make this outfit looked put together!

I hope you've enjoyed these six looks as much as I enjoyed putting them together for you! Whether it's for summer, winter, fall, or spring,  I want this blog to help you draw inspiration for putting together new outfits with what you already have in your closet.  Try new things! Play around with color and patterns you normally wouldn't! Fashion is supposed fun :)

If you have any questions feel free to leave me comments and I'll do my best to answer them!
How do you pair layers to make fab fall looks? :)

Plaid Attack

Happy Friday Loveys!!

I hope you all have been having a wonderful week!  Todays outfit is a mixture of plaid, littered with blues and black. I haven't ever really been a huge fan of plaid but am slowly starting to see it's potential. (Yes, I'm slow, I know.) I have a feeling it will be a big staple in my closet this winter!

From the moment I saw this teardrop bauble necklace I just had to have it! The color is beautiful and I love the gold beading. I thought it went perfectly with the shades of blue in this top.

Pearls..

The whole look:
The Details:

This is a casual outfit I wore a few days ago while running errands around town. I added a soft pearl necklace to dress the look up just a bit and because it seemed to pop against the light blue color of the button up.
What do you wear on a casual day to run errands or when your hanging with friends?

Jeans: Hollister

Five bags..

Weekend Recap:
I spent most of saturday kayaking with my mom but sadly didn't take any pictures while we were on the water.  After we were through and had worked up a furocious appetite, I threw this outfit on and we went and explored a new BBQ joint in town called Rudy's BBQ. Do any of you have one of those nearby? If so, I highly recomend it!!  It'll make you fat in the best way.
;)

The top I'm wearing is light, floral, and girlie because I've been obsessed with uber feminine shirts lately for some wierd reason...the more lace and ruffles, the better. I paired it with a brown cami and a gorgeous rust color pair of skinny jeans that I can't seem to get enough of.

Saturday night I went to a friends house, who we will name mystery lady, and helped her clean out her whole closet! Now, when I say "whole"...I mean WHOLE: old shoes, summer clothes, winter clothes, jackets, pajamas..everything she hasn't worn in at least six months got tosssed. I wish I had taken a before and after picture to really show all the progress and improvement that was made but the picture of the 5 trash bags of stuff to donate should say it all!!

Top: Platos Closet but originally from Target
Jeans: Marshalls ( got them for $19.99!!)
Cami: Wet Seal (they have awesome deals, these were 5 for $20!)
Necklace: Charlotte Rouse ( every now and then they will mark all jewelry down to $5.
 Lets just say I majorly scored that day!!)

Yes I'm wearing pants.

 Today I chose a chambray top in order to bring a literal meaning to "casual friday". Yay for being comfy all day!

Now, I feel I should explain the title of this post to you all. It's really rather funny.
A few weeks ago I posted a picture of me wearing these pants (in a different outfit) on instagram. I then had two different people leave me comments cracking up because when they first saw the picture, they thought I was wearing any pants.
Really?!
