Don't rain on my parade

The end of the weekend is here and I find myself asking, as usual, where did it go?? Oh yeah, the rain washed it away. It's been raining here in my neck of the woods all. weekend. long.  Grey skies, wind blowing, cloudy and humid, thats what I was working with today and yesterday. Do you know what that means? Lazy time!!!

Needless to say I spent most of my time in sweat pants and a comfy t-shirt. I didn't think you'd want a picture of that. ;)
Rain = no fashionista here

However, I did go out dancing on saturday night and had a blasty blast! Here are a few pics of what I wore:

Animal Instincts

Hello my lovelies!!

I hope you all are having a great week! Honestly this has been a long week for me so I'll keep this one short and sweet.

This is what I wore today to work and it's also the first time I've worn these pieces together. I love love love these white dress pants and wish I could find a pair in every color! {They're on my shopping list, they will be mine!}

The flowy animal print top is a kind of sheer, light, cover up type cardigan, and its super comfortable. As you know, I live in texas and the lighter the material in anything, the better. {It's almost october and still hits 100 degrees some days. Yikes.}
Now that I'm sitting here thinking about it this one of my only animal print pieces of clothing I own. Hmmmm...I should add more to my collection. ;)

A Bit Rusty

{ Cardigan: F21, Top: Ross (old), Pants: Marshalls, Shoes: Ross (Nine West), Bracelet: Charming Charlies}

Happy Thursday!

Decided to sport these amazing rust colored skinny jeans at work today, you know, because they're awesome. I acually really like the "colored jeans" look thats so hot right now but havent found too many colors I have the courage to wear.  Then I saw these babies and BOOM! I fell in love.

The top is one I've had for about a million years but I love the artsy, watercolor look to it. Plus the fact it has shades of red and black helps it flow with the color of the pants really well, so it was a perfect fit. Love it!  Threw on a black cardigan and some black accessories and there you have it. :)

What color of jeans are you sporting this season??

Hope everybody has had a great week so far and I'm super excited its friday tomorrow!
Thanks for reading and dont forget to follow me!

Whistle while you work

{Top: Ross, Pants: A'Gaci, Heels: Ross}

I've been enjoying this absolutley gorgeous day today! It's the kind of day that makes you want to run frolicking through the fields with your hands in the air like your 5 years old again. Unfortunetly, I live in the city, so my meadows consist of concrete. But hey, we can still frolick, right? Right?! ....Right. ;)

I am totally in love with these white dress pants. I love the color, the fit, everything. Now I just need them in every color known to man and I'll be good.

This black top is so comfy and I can't wait for the two weeks here in texas when it's actually cold enough for me to wear a cardigan or jacket with it. ( just kidding...it's actually three weeks. hah.) Where oh where are you winter??

I hope eveyone is having a great tuesday and keep being fabulous!

How to style colored shorts: 3 ways

I decided to do things a bit differently today!

 I pulled out my favorite pair of colored shorts and began to think about a few different ways I could style them for easy everyday wear. I've worn this pair of shorts numerous times but have yet to take any pictures in them.

 I wanted a few easy outfits that weren't too complicated and wouldn't leave me pulling and tugging on uncomfortable clothes all day long. Truth be told I could come up with many more ways to style colored shorts but these three are my most versatile, ones I turn to when I'm in a hurry. I included short and long sleeves into these three looks and one with a removable cardigan. ( I get cold easily, don't judge.)

Look #1:

{Chambray Top: Target, Shorts: Abercrombie, Necklace: Charlotte Rouse, Shoes:F21}

I chose this popular chamray button up to make this a very casual outfit, one I could throw on for a day of errands, shopping, or being outdoors. This particular outfit could be paired with any color of shorts and for colored jeans as well for a seasonal change up.

Look #2:

{Top: Ross, Shorts: Abercrombie, Necklace: F21, Shoes: Target}

This is a look I would wear while spending time with friends or headed out to a movie. Casual yet could be dressed up with heels and a light jacket. It's hard to tell in the picture but the top quarter of this shirt is sheer so it gives it a slightly more dressy feel. This is another look that could be swapped out for any color of shorts or colored jeans for a seasonal change up.

Look #3:

 {Cardigan: Target, Tank: Old Navy, Shoes: Charlotte Rouse}

I created this look with a cardigan because I get cold easily, and also, I might have a slight obsession with cardigans.....maybe. Just a little. I love wearing complimentary colors together and this worked out well because both colors were tied into the floral tank. Score!

I think this type of post is something I might continue to do...Style different things in my closet several different ways, just to learn how to better work my closet. What do you all think? Something you would be interested in seeing more of?

Leave me comments and let me know what you think! Thanks again for reading my blog and keep being fabulous!

Glitter in her veins

Happy Friday Everyone!!

This outfit is what I sported to work today. I was in a glitter kind of mood and just recently purchased this shirt at Marshalls, so fate aligned and poof! this is the end result.

 I actually really like how this look turned out. When I first bought these khaki(ish) pants I was wondering what I would wear with them, then this morning when I was rumaging through my closet I saw this top... yay! I love the muted color palet too. Happy day!

How do you all wear glitter? Leave me comments and let me know! :)
Have a fabulous weekend!

Opposites Attract

It's a Black and White kind of day.

Ok, No, not really. It just happens to be what came out of my closet! Juuuuust kidding. ;)

 This is a look I wore to work today, figured I'd post it since most of my looks I post are casual ones. I originally wanted to wear a red top with this adorable skirt but didn't know if it would be a bit too cliche. So I figured I'd go with a classic black and white color scheme. Tell me, what are some of the ways you wear blazers?

 {Blazer: Wet Seal (old), Black tank: F21, Skirt: Ross, Heels: Ross, Necklaces: Aldo}

Thanks for stopping in!!

A whirl wind

So the last five days have been a whirl wind of a time. This past weekend was non-stop running for me and this week hasn't slowed down much either! Here a few of the outfits I've worn in the past few days on my adventures:

This is what I wore Saturday night when I went out dancing (yup, I'm a two-stepper.)  I love this blue gingham printed button up and I thought it looked really cute with these dark wash jeans. Last of all there's no completing a country outfit with out boots!
 :)

{details}

 {Top: Abercrombie&Fitch, Jeans: Burlington Coat Factory, Belt: American Eagle, Boots: Corral Vintage}

This outfit was worn on Sunday while I was out and about visiting family. I wanted to keep it simple and easy because I was heading to several different places that day.  I like wearing hunter green because it matches my eyes and the fact that the top is sleeveless helped keep me cool. These sleeveless tops are so versatile because they can be worn with a blazer or cardigan and dressed up or with out either and kept casual.

 {Top: TJ Maxx, Shorts: F21, Shoes: Target}

 I wore this look to work and got alot of compliments on these pink skinny jeans! I actually just got these jeans yesterday and had to sport them today because I adore them so much. The black and white striped top I picked to wear in order to help to make my pink bauble necklace pop.(!)  I chose these flats to keep the look comfortable and becauseI love the blocked toe trend that's so popular right now. With the flats being in a neutral color I can wear them with anything too!  :)

{Top: Ross, Jeans: F21, Necklace: Groopdealz.com, Flats: F21, Bracelots/ring: F21}

Here's a nice casual look I wore while running errands and setting up for my little mans 7th birthday. (He's my god-son, but still my baby!!!) I was immediatley attracted to this shirt because of its ruffles and its peach color.  I'm a strawberry blonde so peachy/pink shades go good with my skin tone and when I see anything in those colors, Im sucked in. :)

{Ruffles, ruffles, ruffles!!! :) }

 {Top: Platos Closet, Jeans: Hollister, Shoes: Ross}

Viola!

Hello to all my lovelies!!!

 I know I have been slacking on posts this week so this is me catching up!....kinda. I haven't been taking pictures like I should, sorrryyyyyy!  As, I posted last time, friday was my birthday, and that was an awesome kick-start to my wonderful weekend. Ok, a quick summary of activities so I don't write you a book: Cake, Dinner, shopping, cake, more shopping, family came over, more cake, kayaking, and BBQing, and cake. Needless to say....I probably need to hit the treadmill!! Anyway, onto the past two outfits I actually took pictures of. I apologize in advance for the poor picture quality as these were all taken with my iphone.

{ Pants: A'gaci, Top: Ross, Shoes: Ross, Necklace: old}

This outfit is a simple one I wore to work this week. I was afraid the solid brown top would look a bit too uniform with the khaki pants so I added my favorite pair of snake skin heels, and viola!Much better! I actually just bought these pants this past weekend ( a birthday score!) and am still figuring out ways to style them. If you have any cute ideas please share!!! ;)

{Top: Target, Pants: American Eagle, Shoes: Dont remember where I got them but they're Steve Maddens, Necklace: Groopdealz.com}

I picked up this top at target about a month ago on the sales rack and just adore it!! It's the first item of clothing thats considered "color blocking" that I've bought because honestly, I havent made up my mind on if I really like the trend.  Don't get me wrong, I love bright colors and wearing complimentarty colors together, just not sure if I want it all on the same shirt. But, while shopping around in target on that fateful day, I saw it on the sales rack and fell in love.
I feel the need to apologize again for the picture quality especially in the last picture but it was the only way I could show you the true color of the top. (its like a ninja turtle green!)
I decided to pair it with a navy bauble necklace to help tie in the bright blue on the back of the tank and kept my earrings very simple. (they're plain gold studs)

I really appreciate you all sticking with me this week even though I was slow to post! I promise I am back to normal and on routine! ( well...is anyone ever reallyyyyy normal? ha! jk)
Please leave me comments if you have any questions or if there's anything you would like to see!

So Friday was my birthday and I've been going non stop ever since! ( hence the lack of blog posts) I promise I'll be back into the swing of things tomorrow! This is my brain on cake. :)
