I believe this is the first "work clothes" post that I've dont thus far. I usually try to keep my outfits more on the casual side because so many people have different types of jobs and not all of them require you to be dressed up. (But everyone gets casual!) I may change that...

 

I'm digging these pants because they are dressy but still super comfortable and I love that about them. If there's anything I hate more it's stiff, scratchy clothing that leaves you hating what you're wearing for the rest of the day. To bad we all can't wear sweat pants to work every day huh? ;)

 

This top is sheer and very breezy which is almost a staple piece these days due to the heat. With the pants being a dark gray color I'm having to really play around with what I have in my closet to see what I can pair up with them. Black is a definite, but what else? Maybe red? Certain shades of pink? Help me out here ladies!! Leave me comments on how you wear dark gray and help a sister out!

Happy Monday everyone!

 

Sorry this post is appearing a little later in the day but today has been a hectic one! Now, I know what you may be thinking...wow this girl wears alot of blue. I actually just purchased this top last night because I've been searching for some cute sleeveless tops and haven't been able to find many I like. (Plus it's scortching outside and it keeps me cool!) I've been seeing alot of tops like this lately and I totally see why they're so popular: You can wear them dressed up with slacks and heels for work, or with jeans and  shorts for a more casual look. So.. I may have bought two of these last night...maybe. ;)

 

Jeans are on sale at old navy right for $19 bucks!! So I ran in there and scooped up two pairs of skinny jeans, this black pair I'm wearing today and a regular blue jean pair. ( that I'm sure you'll see in a post soon!) Love them!!

Casual Friday..

Todays look is a super casual one with holy jeans and a white tee complete with plaid slip on shoes. Classic casual running around on a Friday night kind of outfit. Hope you all are having a wonderful Friday!!!

It's all the rage

Decided to wear this cute breezy teal dress today due to how hot it's been ( Just a warning: your gonna hear that complaint a lot!! It's Texas!). Blue seems to be all the rage in my closet here lately although I'm not sure why. Instead of wearing high heels I decided to pair these cognac sandals with a matching belt to make this outfit a bit more casual for running around town. I love the color cognac because you can pair it with anything and in any season.

Subtle Texture

Today is a brown kind of day. I walked into my closet, picked up these shoes and thought..."yes."  Plus, who doesn't love a great snake skin printed shoe? Thankfully rain isn't in the forecast for today because I don't see myself being able to sprint in these puppies! 

I love the lace detail in the top of this shirt. (if you can't tell from past posts, I l.o.v.e lace!) It's always the small details that get me. A simple ruffle. A cute bow placed somewhere unexpected on a blouse. It's these small details that can turn something simple into something amazing.

These earrings caught my attention at Forever21 because they help add a subtle texture to my outfit. I like to combine different textures in one out fit becuase I feel it gives the look depth. It doesnt look so monotone if your wearing all one color if you wear it in different textures. (texture ex: denim, feathers, lace, leather)

Happy Monday Everyone!

Did that sound enthusiastic?? I tried. It was a rainy and cloudy weekend and today hasn't improved much. { In other words: I slept all weekend, was lazy, and it was ah-maz-ing!} I just recently picked this necklace up at Forever21..I'm grabbing up bib-style necklaces like they're going out of style. I love them!!  I chose to keep today's outfit more of a comfortable one just incase the sky did decide to open back up and start raining cats and dogs. We shall see how it goes, keep your fingers crossed for sunshine!

Today has been busy busy! I'm loving the bright colors I'm wearing today, and isn't it odd how the colors you wear can heighten your mood? That's how I feel today. Bright and happy. :)

I just recently purchased this blue gingham shirt and can't wait to play around in my closet with it to see how many different ways I can restyle it. The wheels in my brain are already turning!  Hmmm..I'm seeing skinny jeans tucked into boots...but that will just have to be another post altogether!  That's what I do when I'm contemplating buying a new piece of clothing, I stand there and mentally try to think of at least three ways I can restyle it with the clothes I have at home. That way I don't end up with pieces I can only wear one way. I want my clothes to go the distance, don't you?

Mint Anyone?

{This whole outfit is from F21 although I didnt plan it that way!}

Today I wanted to keep things casual so I chose this bright mint colored tank top and went from there. I'm totally digging nautical stripes this summer as well and thought, why not pair together both tops? Success! So a pair of skinny jeans and high heels later, here we are trying not to burn to a crisp in the sun shine. ( Did I mention I'm a strawberry blonde and can't tan? I burn. It's more like: burn, peel, repeat.) Gah! All you tan folks make me jealous!

Well the good news is it's only two more days till the weekend!!

Hello Toasty Tuesday!

Ok totally just kidding there, but it is HOT HOT HOT here in Texas!

If ever there was a time I wanted to jump into a huge swimming pool full of ice blue water, it would be today! Now, I know wearing black while I'm sitting here going on and on about how hot it is, is not the smartest idea I've ever had but can you blame me? This skirt is amazing! I love the texture, I love the look of it, and I love that it's lace. We have a winner.  :)

I decided to put a vest with it as well with a nice white 3/4 sleeve length shirt peeking out from underneath it to break up the black and then belt it. I don't know what it is about wearing a belt that high up on my waist and on top of everything I'm wearing that I like so much. It adds just that extra "umph" to the out fit and helps cinch your waist if your wearing something flowy or loose. I have a whole basket full of belts that always make their way into an outfit no matter what the season or time of year it is. You should try it and tell me how you like it!
