In light of New Years being right around the corner I felt like pulling out my sequin tank top I just bought from J.Crew.  I paired it with a plaid button up for a fun, layered look that still has a hint of casual to it. (Plus its freezing outside so added layers = added warmth!)

Hello My Loves!!

 

I know this outfit probably looks more fourth of july-ish with all the red white and blue, but I love this dress! I chose to put a red cardigan over this dress to pull out the red pinstripes in the fabric, you can see it better in the close up.

 

 I "winterized" this short dress by pairing it with tights and knee high boots. You'll see more versions of that method in posts to come. ;)

Hello my loves!

Just a quick outfit post from my phone until I can get to the computer to post one! Did you all have a good Christmas? Mine was wonderful!! I got to spend time with family I haven't seen in a while and eat myself silly. It was glorious. :)

These are a few of my favorite things..

Hello my loves!!

 

 

I know its tradition in the land of fashion bloggers to post a collage of my favorite holiday sweaters, scarves, boots, etc...

 

But I'm going to do things a bit differently here.

 

 

I decided to post a few pictures of things that make me truly happy at Christmas time.** I'm choosing to not include pictures of family/friends here for their own privacy, not because I don't love them!

 

 

I looove getting to shop non-stop at Christmas time. Call me crazy but I like the hustle and bustle of this season pulling everyone out of their normal routine.

*and, maybe, all the good deals you score at the mall ;)

 

 

If you've ever visited the Galleria in Houston Texas at christmas time, you've seen this beauty. Three stories tall, decorated to the core, and so big around that they put it in the middle of the ice skating arena for all to see its glory.

Magnificent.

 

 

I love getting to make handmade gifts for people I care about! This is my first attempt at making a "man basket" as they call it, and it turned out so well!! LOVE IT!

 

 

Now on to the good stuff. FOOD! I'm a big fan of annual cookie parties ...I mean, look at this spread!? Who wouldn't be? Yummmmmm!

 

 

Christmas decore, oh how I love thee.

I get giddy getting to see my home come alive with a pretty tree full of twinkling lights, santa clause figures, holly, ribbons, and bows! 

And last but not least, my tree. ;)

It looks so empty in this picture because now it's full of presents underneath... but I adore it!

Are you all ready for christmas? Done with your christmas shopping?

 (I live right down from a huge mall and traffic is cur-az-yyy right now!!)

 

This outfit was brought on from all the sudden, insane, wind and cold air that came out of nowhere last night. We woke up this morning with our patio furniture blown all over the place, and our christmas wreath half way down the side walk. Like I said, crazy wind!

 

So began this outfit..

Although this look screams says "spring", I decided to wear it anyway because I'm a firm believer in wearing color in the winter time. Who says winter fashion has to be plaqued with only blacks, grays, and browns? Not this girl! Plus I like the fact that there is no possible way you could miss me in a crowd. Ha!

Just kidding.

I absolutely adore this necklace! It goes with everything and adds just the right amout of character to any outfit.

A Chocolate Thursday..

 

Today's outfit is brought to you by the color brown, chocolate brown to be exact. It was still extremely cold when I left for work this morning so I happily grabbed my scarf and thick leather jacket on my way out the door.

 

I love this jacket, by the way. It's the sturdiest leather jacket I've found in a long time and it has buckles and snaps annnddd fur. Can you say texture and visual interest?! It doesn't get much better than that!

 



Once it warmed up I was able to lose the scarf and still be comfortable. I paired antique gold colored jewelry with this out fit to compliment the gold in the scarf and the darkness of the outfit. It all flowed together really well!

Has everyone been freezing thier bums off like I have been??

Isn't it awesome? :)

We texans have to soak up the winter while its here...for like, two weeks.

 

Today I sported stripes on stripes for a nice little change up. This is the first time I've ever worn this combo and I must say I like it! Maybe next time I'll add a little pop of color in there somewhere. ;)

Monday, monday, monday.....what am I going to do with you?!

 

I spent the entire weekend running around in short sleeve shirts and then wake up this morning and BAM! Cold weather is here with a vengance!! *insert happy sqeak!*

 

This outfit is one I wore last week to work. I love to wear black and white together with a pop of color in there somewhere. I usually don't wear dark blue and black together but I've been seeing it more and more on runways, on fashion blogs, and in magazines, so I'm giving it a shot. and i like it, go figure.

 

I usually try to incorporate as many layers into my outfits as I can but it hasn't been cold enough until now to wear more than two. Hopefully this week I can change that.

Let's all give one big "yippee!" for the weekend almost being here!!
I'm ready for it, how about you?!

This plaid top was very flowy and loose so I chose to belt it to help cinch my waist and to keep my girlish figure apparent. This is a trick I use not only with flowy tops, but with heavy sweaters, trench coat type jackets, or when I have alot of different layers on.

I found this purse and Ross and fell in love with it. It's the perfect size and shape and the buckles and straps are awesome.

It's December and it's still 80 degrees. As much as I am dying to wear all my sweaters and boots, I can't yet and it's killing me! Yes, I have opened christmas presents in shorts and flip flops before, don't judge.
